Jarno Widar is one of the most promising young talents in modern Belgian cycling. Born in 2005, he has stood out since his junior days thanks to his strength and climbing ability, quickly establishing himself as a leading figure in international Under-23 races.
Widar is a well-rounded cyclist, with a natural aptitude for tough climbs and stage races. He combines keen tactical awareness with remarkable endurance on mountainous courses — qualities that mark him out as a potential general classification leader in stage races.
Following two exceptional Under-23 seasons, Widar is set to turn professional with Lotto–Intermarché in 2026, with his first Grand Tour expected to be the Vuelta a España. Despite his youth, Widar has already demonstrated impressive maturity and adaptability. He overcame the challenge of withdrawing from the 2025 Giro Next Gen following a crash, remaining focused on his long-term goal of competing at the highest level.
